My Pastel Spring

by Deanna

A pink Azalea with yellow Daffodils in the background

Spring has arrived in all of its glory.  We have had a cool Spring which has been a real blessing for those of us who enjoy the beauty of the emergence of color.  If the weather becomes too hot, which has happened many times in the past, the daffodils droop, the tulip petals drop off, the magnolia trees loose their flowers too soon and Spring has left before we have had a chance to revel in it's beauty. It has been in the 50's and 60's, even a few 70 degree days, but down right cold at night. Frost warnings have been frequent, but now that it's May, we should begin to enjoy climbing temps.  I know you are not looking for a weather report from me, but because of the cool weather most daffodils are still going strong, tulips have just begun to open, and many Magnolia's are still blooming.   I am very fortunate to have a magnificent Arboretum so close to my home where I spend many a day wandering with my camera thru it's splendid woods, fields and gardens. So I invite you to come along with me and enjoy my pastel adventures in Spring....

Blue Scilla

Pink Magnolia

Pink Crabapple

Blue Brunnera

Virginia Blue Bells (I love the combo of pink & blue, pink buds that turn into blue flowers)

Teeny tiny wildflower

Redbud Tree

Grape Hyacinth

Yellow double petaled daffodils

Pink tulip

White Crabapple

I hope you enjoyed our walk together thru my pastel Spring and that you are out enjoying the color in your world.

Taking a walk through the arboretum with you is always a treat! And these photos do make my heart soar. I love that peach daffodil! I've never seen one that color, just beautiful. This is a beautiful kick off to the weekend. Thank you, my friend!

These are gorgeous!!! Thanks for taking us along. We don't have the abundance of color here ... yet. Still! I'm enjoying ever little bit as it comes, but this stroll with you was just delicious!

I don't know how you get anything else done! I would be at the Arboretum every day taking in all this beauty! Spectacular shots from you, as always, and I loved going on this virtual spring tour with you. Hope your weather holds and you are able to enjoy many more weeks of this beauty before summer hits.

Your arboretum looks fabulous! So far the Dallas one is the best I've been to but yours looks pretty awesome! I wish our magnolia trees looked like those up north. Your shots are soooo beautiful.
