It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This!!

by Deanna

It’s Thursday afternoon, I’m on vacation and it’s my turn to post.  I have been contemplating, worrying and wringing my hands (not really wringing my hands) about this post for the last 3 or 4 days and I haven’t been able to come up with anything new or noteworthy.  When we have such a fine group of talented ladies posting such wonderful, informative & beautiful posts 5 days a week, it seems to get more difficult, for me anyway, to come up with something original.

Remember I said that I was on vacation, this time I am in Phoenix visiting and staying with good friends and also spending some time with Terri & Carol from our group, Focusing on Life, along with Barbara Hurst & Barbara Carroll.  Many of you know both Barbara H & Barbara C….both wonderful photographers and friends.  We had decided that the botanical garden would be a perfect place to spend our time together.  We met at the front gates of the Phoenix Botanical Gardens and as we greeted & hugged each other our anticipation for what may be inside those gates of the arboretum was exciting.  We were not disappointed. The weather has been warm, the cactus have begun to bloom, and the wildflowers are in full beauty.   Exploding colors everywhere.  Anyone that says there is no color in the desert, is dead wrong.  And since pictures speak louder than words…..

There were oranges....

And blues....

And whites.....

And various shades of pink....

Then we went to the butterfly house and found more colors....just how many ways can nature give us beautiful black?

So instead of lots of words this time.... I give you lots of pictures.  How can I possibly come up with words as beautiful as these pictures....flowers in multitudes of colors, and butterflies with  their graceful beauty.   What a fine, fine day spent with the beauty of the garden and the beauty of wonderful friends.  It doesn't get much better than this.

I just love these communities! Seem no matter where a meet up happens its a mixture of BPC, prompt addicts and fol friends. Is amazing that its been so many years that we have all " worked" together at our passion. And we're all still smiling and just beginning to meet each other! Love it
Deanna these shots are just so beautiful. I love the daisies and the first butterfly the best , but really I love them all. Congratulations on making your time together happen and thanks for sharing the fun!

Oh, my, Deanna! This is such a beautiful post and really tells the story of our day yesterday. Beauty all around, both in our surroundings and in being together. As Carol said, I'm so impressed that you put this post together last night, textures and all! I really can't pick a favorite but I do love that brown and teal butterfly and the perfect texture you used. Can't wait to see what we all capture today!

Deanna, I really love the butterfly with the blue/green in the wings. Lovely photo of the group. Occasionally you women post photos of those in the group. I would like to suggest you would give a listing of who the people are in the order in the photos. Several of you have been in classes, so it is nice to match up faces. But maybe you do not want to make the group that public. Happy Vacation.
