The Sights of Summer

by Leigh

Summer is so many things to me.
  • colorful flowers
  • jumping off high dives
  • parties outside
  • no school!
  • open windows
  • iced coffee
  • swimming
  • blue skies and puffy clouds
  • road trips
  • vacation
  • hammocks
  • day drinking

  • blowing bubbles
  • sand castles
  • watermelon
  • popsicles
  • Fourth of July
  • snocones
  • peaches, blackberries, strawberries, nectarines…all the yummy fruit available freshly picked
  • homemade ice cream
  • butterflies
  • flip flops
  • suntans
  • lemonade stands

  • sleeping in and staying up late
  • roller skating & bike riding
  • late evening walks
  • lake trips
  • catching fireflies
  • junebugs
  • golden hour photos

Hope you are having a great summer so far.  We would love to see your sights of summer!

Hammocks. Let's add that to your wonderful list of summer fun. I can always tell from your awesome pictures that you and your family know how to have fun in the summer. And just like me, you're sitting in the shade at the pool. Hey! Maybe we should add that to our lists! Sitting in the shade.

Aren't we all so lucky to have had summers like this - not everyone does...... Beautiful post - and my fav is that high dive jump - it used to take me all summer to build up to that! Your daughter is obviously braver than I.......

Such a great list of summer fun! I'm with whoever it is that commented as FOL -- I can remember trying and trying to build up the courage to go off the high dive and when I finally did, summer was almost over! We love making homemade ice cream and spending long hours in the pool. And in just a few weeks we'll be doing out favorite summer activity -- taking a vacation at the beach in San Diego!
