Say Yes!

As 2012 comes to a close and 2013 is open to new adventures, I am going to learn to say Yes more often.  Saying no places a roadblock to growth, saying yes is an invitation to at least try.
  • Yes!  for eating healthier and staying away from sweets (well not all sweets, but less)
  • Yes!  to education, either on-line or a physical campus
  • Yes!  to contacting old friends that I haven't seen in awhile
  • Yes!  to exercising (oh good Lord, I have to, even taking a walk is better than nothing)
  • Yes!  to continuing my photography growth
  • Yes!  to a trip abroad (I am bound and determined to get across that big pond and visit a foreign country)
  • Yes!  to organization (No details here, the list is far too long)
  • Yes!  to walking in the Alzheimer's Walk and raising as much money as I can for continued research to conquer this horrible disease.
  • Yes!   to saying yes to opportunities that may come my way.
  • Yes!  to volunteering, it does wonders for my heart & soul.
  • Yes!  to praying more and worrying less.
How about you?  Are you ready to say Yes in 2013?  Share with us, we would love to hear.

AND, please don't forget about our drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Adorama simply by leaving a comment on any of our posts...the more the better or post a photo in our flickr group.  Last day for entering is December 28th with the drawing on January 1st.  Good luck.

Ah, I knew this was you from the first few lines! Take me on those walks, I really need them too. And why are sweets so, well, delcious? And cheese! Great list, Deanna. Vibrant, positive, life-embracing, reflecting all that goodness you shine in your own blog and here. It's so uplifting. So, uh, YES!
Yes, please.
Love,
Pam

That is probably the best resolution / 'one word' and one I think holds the most possibilities. It frames everything in a more positive manner. I have decided that "I will..." is my approach to things in the new year. As a mom and housewife, I have forfeited too much control of my own life for far too many years and I 'will' reclaim some of that in the new year by taking control of my own destiny and not rely on others to make me happy. I've decided it is about time to make changes that will put me on the path to greater peace, even if that means telling others they will have to wait, or heaven forbid, fend for themselves.

I like the 'one word' resolution, too. This year was 'focus', and I did ok. Haven't come up with one this year...yet.

Good luck with yours. And, thanks for the inspiration you've given me this year, to keep learning more about photography.

Happy New Year!

Yes! Such a great word! I plan to do more of that in the coming year. Wish you were closer so we could hold each other accountable and get each other out and walking! I've loved spending the last year here with you and am looking forward to your next trip west!

YES! Love your "yes" attitude! I'm going to clone some of it for myself. We'll check with one another in a year and see how we did. Bring on the New Year! And I love your snow-berries.

I say yes to trusting in God more.... giving Him my whole heart and leaving the worries behind!

OH I am on with the saying yes.. although I am already in education a one day a week accounting course that takes up quite a bit of my time studying. A must do for me is to get back to my daily walking routine. Kind of got out of it the last 6 months (lost nearly 90 pounds) and even though I have not put back on any weight these last 6 months I am feeling unfit somewhat. So back at it I must go even if it is cold and icky out. Thanks for sharing your yes list.

Deanna-this is you all over! So many resolutions start frm the negative. But even though you have been through a lot, you are unfailingly positive! I love it, and the photo, and you! Happy. New Year!
