A New Twist On An Old Favorite

I love photography. I love my camera. I love being creative. I love sharing this passion with other women who feel the same.

I could go on and on.....and on and on.......and on......but instead, I'm choosing to express myself through a melody fitting with our In Focus theme this month. And in the words of Elton John, "I know it's not much but it's the best I can do, my gift is my song and this one's for you."

Please sing to the tune of "My Favorite Things."

Beautiful sunsets and finding the right light,
flowers in macro and focusing just right,
Flickr group pools and the friendship it brings,
these are a few of my favorite things.

Writing and blogging at Focusing On Life,
capturing moments as a mom and a wife,
being inspired by the joy that life brings,
these are a few of my favorite things.

Capturing sun flare and bokeh is so fab,
playing for hours with actions and RadLab,
Being creative just makes my heart sing,
these are a few of my favorite things.

When I'm crabby, when I'm cranky,
when I'm feeling sad,
I pull out my camera and take a few shots,
and then I don't feel so bad.

I hope you enjoyed this little ditty!
Feel free to add your own verses and, of course, all of your wonderful "My Favorite Things" photos to the flickr pool to be considered for the In Focus choice of the week!

Stephanie ... This is wonderful! We now have an official theme song written by one of our own. Oh, I'm so proud of you! Now we'll have to figure out which one of us can record it to accompany our posts! What makes it perfect is that it expresses what we've all felt and experienced through our every day living and our photography. Yes, photography is part of "life" for each one of us.

Oh, Stephanie, I LOVE this! Really, really wonderful! I am singing along here in my p.j.s with all of you. I am going to print this out, frame it and hang it in my scrap room/studio/computer room (whatever I am calling it at the moment) as a constant reminder of this wonderful hobby we all love and share. Your accompanying photo is perfect -- like you are holding that baby up for adoration! You are a true treasure to this group, my friend!

Those of us going to camp need to learn this song so we can take a video of all of us FOL girls singing it together! We can post a little video here when we get back. It may go 'viral' on YouTube!

Great great great! My older sister used this tune to make up a song about my younger sister on her 5oth so we had fun with it too. This is such a fun and different idea - and the words are really great I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT YOU TUBE!!!!!!!!!

This was one of my favorite songs from The Sound Of Music and I have had it in my head all month! Now I can sing it with new words! Very creative!
And, yes, my camera always makes me feel better!
