Thank you all so much! I am quite moved by all your kind words...

I took this shot on Captiva Island, Florida. I visit there twice a year. It is my favorite place on earth. It is the kind of place where you can shed your worries and find your center again. This beach is on the north end of the island at Red Fish Pass. The beauty is such that couples marry there on occasion. It is fairly isolated so there aren't many distractions other than dolphins playing or manatees surfacing for a breath. Oh, and the birds are amazing.

When the sun sets, time stops. If others are present, there is often applause as the awe dissipates.

Thanks so much for telling us where this amazing photo was shot, Amy, as well as your description of the place. It sounds wonderful! I know it is close to Sanibel Island which is a place I've always wanted to visit (because of the seashells!) but now I think I want to visit Captiva Island as well. I can just see people clapping for the sunset! Wonderful!
