Let's Hang

It's summertime, so let's just hang.  Ignore the list of things to do.  Ignore the piles of laundry and bills and the boxes of unfinished business, and certainly ignore the fact that so many others are rushing around getting things done.

Hang out with yourself where you are most comfortable.  Hang out with a friend.  Hang around the house if it's a rainy day.

Hang out at the library.

If you feel darkness begin to develop, surrounding you with doubts, hang in there, this too will pass.

Take your pretty necklaces out of those boxes and hang them where you can see them.

Hang bird-feeders close so you can watch all the activity. (hang in there little guy)

Hang new curtains. (Just a peek at the new bathroom)

Hang your favorite pictures all over everywhere. (a new canvas print of my husband's hands)

And always have an angel to hang on your bedpost...

So where do you like to hang?  Let's see some of those "hang-outs" on flickr and don't forget this is "abstract" month too.  I am lovin' those abstract pics...I am so bad at abstract, you are my inspiration.

"Dreams, ideas, and plans not only are an escape, but they give me purpose, a reason to hang on."

Until next time.....

Brilliant idea for a post. -- a riff on one word ! I will be thinking of some one word ideas.... A whole new direction!
I love your pics and, of course, I love to hang. Doesn't everyone?

Oh, the lazy days of summer! It is a time to just hang, isn't it! My dream is to just hang out at the beach! My reality is maybe for a week next month?
Lovely pictures as always!

Linda

Such relaxing images (and I love the bathroom curtains!)Summer is supposed to be relaxing, but we can sure get caught up in all of the "things to do." This is a good reminder to sit down, take a deep breath, and just hang out!

And the photo of your husbands hands.... Oh, so lovely!

Love the idea to "focus" on one word, Deanna! Summer here is like winter there, time to get things done indoors since it's so hot outside. I've been cleaning out closets and finding more room to "hang" some new things. Hanging out with my grandson is one of my favorite things about summer and, like Linda, I'm hanging on to our plans for a week at the beach in August. That's when I'll be able to really just hang out and enjoy life!

And I also have to add that I LOVE the photo of your husband's hands and that you made it into a canvas. What a treasure!

Wonderful post, wonderful photos, wonderful YOU! Summertime is definitely about hangin'. My fear is that we've forgotten how. :-(

Today was a day of hangin' for me ... with my daughter and granddaughter on the occasion of granddaughter's 5th birthday. Taking a quick breather before we're off for the traditional family dinner celebration at the restaurant of her choice: The Melting Pot. Now do we know how to hang or what?

Coming back now with a bit of time to really "look" and I had to comment on the photo of your husband's hands. So warm, so loving ... destined to become a family heirloom.

Hugs, my friend!

Love this post today! I also love the canvas of your husband's hands...such a beautiful image!! I'm with Terri and hang around inside during the summer!! I've been hanging around my craft room and doing a little quilt piecing! Quilting seems like it ought to be a winter project, but, not for me. I hand around outside in the winter!!

I wonder if our children's children's children will know how to hang? When we were without technology we had to make our own fun OR quiet time. Is there any of that these days?

I wonder if young moms will encourage their family to unplug occasionally to enjoy the quiet.

Oh no! I am sounding like my mother :)

Gorgeous, fabulous shots as always D!

Hugs

Claudia

What a great theme to explore, and you did it so creatively! That first shot is wonderful, and I also love the hands portrait. Yes, hanging out is just great -- I think we all need to do more of it.

So beautiful, Deanna. I'm excited about the curtains. Can't wait to see more. Hanging. Yeah. It's all too rare that we allow ourselves to just "be" and hang out. You tell us wise stuff.
