A Colorful Fall

Join me as I take a colorful tour through Fall.  It's Mother Nature's time to shine as the days get shorter and the real colors in the foliage begin to show through.  This is my favorite time of year thanks to the beautiful light and colors that are put on display for all to see.

Fall to me has always been about adventure!  I spend a lot of time outdoors during the fall months enjoying the 70 degree days going on nature hikes and hunts with my kids.  We search for that perfect pine cone that we can make into a birdfeeder with a little peanut butter and birdseed.  We hunt around for acorns of all shapes and sizes.  We collect leaves to use for our colorful crayon rubbings.  We laugh as we all jump into a huge pile of leaves.  What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with the ones I love.

After a very hot and dry summer we have been blessed with a gorgeous Autumn that has lasted more than just our usual couple of weeks.  As November comes to a close and we head into winter with it's cold, blistery and sometimes dreary days I'm taking every opportunity I can to appreciate the here and now.  I hope that Fall's light and color have brought some happiness into your life this year.

A new INFOCUS theme will be introduced soon, but in the meantime we would love to see your Tradition themed photos in our Flickr Pool.  You can also play along on Instagram by tagging your photos #focusingonlife.

Oh, your pictures are so beautiful! Fall does give us some spectacular colors! We have had some fantastic weather lately too but the trees are just beginnig to turn. Spending time outside is my favorite thing! It will be fun playing and taking pictures out there as colors pop out!

Beautiful photos, Leigh; beautiful post; beautiful fall, indeed. My favorite of this batch, though, has to be the one of your nephew. So sweet.

Fall is pretty much on the wane here ... although the sun is out today after a few days of grey so I just might take my camera for a walk and find some lingering color before it's gone for good. Fall is so bittersweet, don't you think?

It's nice to see your fall colors since ours here gone. Love the photo of the little boy (your nephew?) by the fence.

Love each and every photo! Couldn't pick a favorite if I had to. We're still waiting for fall here but I did manage to find a little today on a photo walk with a friend. Your shots make me want to get out and find more!
