Day 1-BE grateful
counted my blessings
Day 2- BE productive
found my Olloclip and went for a photo walk
Day 3- BE engaged
paid attention to every word spoken to me by my daughter and her doll including the
request for little Molly to be buckled in.
Day 4-BE dedicated
dedicated to my muse
Day 5-BE playful
a day of fun riding bikes & scooters
Day 6-BE fun
nature walk, painting, playing card games, going to a movie
Day 7-BE focused
completed a lot of things at work that I had been putting off.
It's amazing how much better I feel without all that hanging over my head.
So in case I didn't make it obvious enough...my word for 2013 is "BE". Each night I set my intention for the next
day and the next day I focus on that thought as I go about my day. I chose the word BE because it's in the present tense and it reminds me to be in the moment. So often I find that on the highway of life I'm set on cruise control. I'm tired of being a spectator. I want to be a participator! I want to do more, see more, BE more instead of just going along for the ride.
A new intention each day also helps me with my 365 project for 2013. I try to tie it in each day with my photo. So far I've been using Instagram for my 365, but I plan to shoot more with my Nikon so I'm sending my IG photos to Flickr and my 365 set so I can keep them all together. By the way...have you seen the Flickr app for the iphone? It's so cool and definitely worth checking out!
Are you starting a new 365 this year? Do you have a word for 2013? Share them with us here in the comments, on Flickr or instagram! I want to thank everyone for reading our blog, posting to our Flickr pool and following us on instagram. We just love our FOL community!

Great post, and so good to look at ways of making the new year a good one. My word for the year is JOYFUL PERSEVERENCE well guess that is 2 words... but.... love you shots and see that this is going to be a good year for you
such a great word leight and i've really been enjoying your creative way of manifesting it on IG. you are so talented my friend. so this year, my word is 'reach' and for the first time i'm doing a 365 project. looking forward to growing and learning new things this year. thank you so much for your inspiration!
I love that way you're using your word each day for your 365! My word this year is "focus." There are several areas of my life and projects that I need to focus on and change or complete!
I love your words Jeanne! Thinking of joyful perseverence would put a smile on my face each day.
Thanks Kelly! I just love the IG community and it's so easy when my phone is always with me. Definitely makes a 365 more doable for me. I love following along with your photos! I always love the photos you take take out your window or in your backyard. It looks so pretty!
Focus is such a great word Cathy! I always have such a hard time narrowing my word down for the year. I think that is why I chose be, because I can add to it each day with a new word :)
I have been loving seeing your IG photos each day illustrating your word for the year! In fact, you were my inspiration last year to start shooting with my phone and to join Instagram, so thank you. My husband says it's my new "addiction" and I can't say he's that far wrong. I love your word and I know you will do great things with it. My word last year was "focus" and I have been seriously thinking about having it be my word again for 2013. I didn't do that well focusing last year and would like a second chance!
I just love your photos. I'm doing some serious iphonography this year and some altered art. My word for 2013 is Altered. Lots of changes coming I'm sure. I'm posting to fickr too. (coppercurls55) and my blog.
Great word Leigh, and great photos too. My word this year is Seek and when I wake up each morning I find myself quietly thinking "seek, seek" as I walk downstairs to start my day.
Or Terri, do what I did...I kept my word for last year, explore, as a silent partner like a wingman for my word this year...explore possible!! ;)
I like that word, seek!
I love how you are using your word for your 365 project, brilliant! I did a 52 week project the year before (2011), and would like to do another one, only this time with a theme, but I just haven't had that aha yet! I had better chose something soon.
Oh Altered is a great word! I will definitely come check you out on Flickr!
To be honest...I didn't even remember what my word was for last year until I came across an old photo on Flickr where I had described it! Evidently last year was discover and I didn't do much discovering! I think that is one of the reasons that I went with my word this year so that I could use it in a daily intention. Hopefully I won't forget a word each day!
Such a great word Judy!
Thank you Kim! and thanks for cheering me on :)
Hi Roxi! So glad you stopped by and I will definitely be checking you out on IG and Flickr!
My favorite thing about your word is the affirmative nature. There are no two ways about "be". It either is or isn't. Wonderful chronicle of your first "be" week. It's been fun seeing them on IG, too. I'm not going to share my word for 2013 yet ... it might be my post for Monday.
I like how your word is a constant remainder, not just for you but for all of us. I think my word looks to be "endeavor" : don't give up on what I really want for myself this year. One of the things I hope to break out of is my reluctance to put myself "out there" so I'm hoping to "endeavor" in being brave.
"Brave" would be a good word, too. Hmm. . . . I see a coin toss in the near future. ; )
I began a 365 in 2011 when I first started getting serious about my photography, and haven't missed a day in two years. Well, maybe a few, but not many. Anyway, it's on my blog and a bit on flickr (runmomrun66). Hope you have a wonderful day!
I love the honesty! I could see myself in that comment! You're on a great roll this year tho!
I thin Shakespeare said something like that Dotti! lol!
love your word for this year and love how you are connecting it to your photos! I haven't chosen a word yet, I'm still thinking about it.
