It's A New Day!

Well, do you notice anything different?  In honor of our first anniversary here at Focusing on Life, we have updated the blog in several ways.  I thought it might be helpful to give you a tour of the new space. Starting from top to bottom:

The New Header – this slideshow header shows one photo from each of our ten contributors.  It will be changed out seasonally.  I don’t know about you but this is my favorite part of our new space!

The Menu Bar – Right under the header is the menu bar.  The Monthly Focus tab will contain the monthly focus photo and a small paragraph about the current month’s focus. This will be changed out on the first of each month as our Monthly Focus changes.  Our mission statement as well as all of our profile photos and bios are now under the “About Us” tab and have been removed from the sidebar.  And finally, at the right side of the menu bar are the links to our Facebook, Instagram and Flickr pages, all neatly contained and easy to find.

Date & Post Title – As you can see, our dates and post titles are centered and the title is larger, making it easier to see. You’ll notice the author of each blog post is at the top right under the post title. This way you can see who has written the post without scrolling down.  

Footer – At the bottom of the page on the left you can find a list of labels and archived posts. In the center is our blog button and code for downloading if you wish to display it on your own blog. Under the blog button code is the place where you can enter your e-mail address to receive our posts in your inbox daily. On the right is our Instagram slideshow.  You can click on any of the slides and it will take you to our Instagram group in the same way that the Instagram logo in the menu bar does at the top of the blog.

Even though things look a bit different, this is the same place it always has been. As you can read in the About Us tab at the top of the page, our goal is to create a caring community for people who are passionate about photography and life. We hope this will be a place that will inspire, teach, nurture, support and where we accept one another; a place where we can grow in our craft and as individuals. Thank you all for being here and for sharing your passion with us as we continue to share ours with you.
