Ain't friendship grand? |
Make new friends, but keep the old
One is silver and the other gold
Do you remember this one from Girl Scout Camp? Well, this week, we will be living it. On Thursday I am leaving for a very special vacation. I am going to meet many of my FOL sisters for the first time.
It may surprise some of you that despite our time here, and several years together in The Big Picture classes and on Prompt Addicts, despite almost daily emails to plan and maintain this blog, most of us have never met. Don't forget that like you, we are a diverse set of women, busy with full lives and responsibilities and we live all over the country geographically. Some of us still have young children with schedules that can't be flexible. But this is something we really want to do. And we will be repeating it until we have all come together. We've managed a start. Who would have thought when we signed up for that first 30 day class that all this would blossom from it?
So , watch out Windy City! We are coming out to turn silver into GOLD!
(and I'm just guessing, but you may see a few pictures in the near future....)
Our theme for this month is Sun. Join us in spirit by posting a picture of the people that bring sunshine into your life - YOUR friends. I can't wait to see your smiles on our Flickr, Instagram and Facebook pages. And we will be smiling TOGETHER as we look through them!

carol, i think about this fact so often...how the simple act of signing up for a photography class changed my life. can't wait to see everyone. :)
Can't wait to kick off our first annual get together and I'm hoping it will become an annual thing until, as you said, we can ALL be there. I think often of what both you and Kelly said, how that first Picture class changed so many of our lives. Being together in person will be the frosting on the cake!
There is absolutely no way I could have guessed how Picture classes would change my life. I knew I wanted to learn more about photography but I never, ever dreamed I would meet and make such wonderful friends. Online. Wow. And when I meet them in person, as I've been fortunate enough to do with a few, it's absolutely awesome. So looking forward to meeting more virtual friends FOR REAL!
The internet can be so annoying, and it can be wonderful..So glad I have met all of you "sisters" here. Hope to be in on the fun next year. Have a blast!
This is amazing. It excites me to think of all of you together. Have fun! I can't wait to see the photos. xxoo
Hang on...the adventure begins in 3 days!!!
Hope you gals have a wonderful time! I imagine there will be plenty of talking and lots of laughter! Can't wait to see a few pictures of you all together!
