“Life
isn't about waiting for the storm to pass…
It's about learning to dance in the
rain.” - Vivian Greene
Let's
admit it. When it rains, most of
us instinctively run for cover, especially when the above skies scream
'thunderstorm'. Most of us will
pack it up, head for shelter, including myself...quite quickly, too. However, this day was different. On
this day I decided to be brave and stick out this rainstorm, with my husband by
my side. And let me just say that
getting rained on (drenched) was so worth it! I was ecstatic, laughing, clicking away at the grand beauty
that surrounded us. It was
breathtaking. The way the clouds,
the storm passing over the ocean, how it all reflected on the mirror of the wet
sandy beach...straight beauty from the heavens above. It was a true 'wow' moment and all captured with my old
iphone 4.
With
the months of March and April here that means 'spring break' across the USA. If
you happen to be spending your vacation near the beach and the forecast is
calling for rain, turn that frown upside down, grab your camera gear...and go! Go dance in the rain! xo's

Wow Susan!! These images are just stunning! You make me grateful for nature's beauty once again!
Such fabulous beach shots! They show the beauty of the beach whatever the weather. And it is such a good lesson in finding beauty everywhere and in making a choice about how to respond when things aren't exactly to our liking. It's rainy and windy here today so I'll have to challenge myself to find the beauty.
Your pictures are beautiful! Thank you for sharing this post. It gave me a much needed smile this morning,
beautiful, beautiful shots, susan! we're heading to san antonio, texas in about a week and a half for our spring break, and believe me when i say i'm down to counting the minutes till departure time!
Playing out in the rain sounds so fun! A great change for the normal way - to run for cover. Love your photos!!
Your photos are so beautiful that I find myself hoping for some rain! And I don't even like rain! But your lesson is a good one, that we should find the beauty wherever we are and whatever the circumstances. Those clouds reflected on the beach look like a painting. Beautiful post with beautiful shots and a perfect message.
I love that quote…and the photos are awesome! Ive had some pretty close calls with lightning so I always run for cover, however, I think next time I will trust God to protect me and dance in the thunderstorms with camera in hand! Thanks for sharing!
Stunning images Susan! Love the quote and your attitude. I absolutely love the rain - good thing since I'm in Seattle! have a great day.
I actually love to shoot in the rain. It definitely has its challenges, but like you said, the results are well worth it. Your photos took my breath away! These are magical! A great way to start the day with a positive attitude - let's take what is given us and make the best of it! Love this Susan!
Such beautiful reflections Susan....The past few times the weather looked like that I wasn't so lucky to stick around, sand blowing 3-4 feet off the ground and water spouts have formed. But one of my most favorite times to shoot in the rain was on the sidelines of the varsity football game, with my umbrella of course! :)
man this totally speaks to me susan. life is so much better when we can learn to see the beauty in things that might not be ideal. beautifully expressed here in your photos.
