What a Wonderful World

by Susan

'What a Wonderful World' written by Howard Dietz, George Douglas, Robert Thiele, Arthur Schwartz, Bob Thiele, Axel Christofer Hedfors, George David Weiss, Bob Thiele Jr.

"I see trees of green, red roses too.
I see them bloom, for me and you.
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

"I see skies of blue, clouds of white.
The bright blessed day, and dark sacred night.
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

"The colors of a rainbow, so pretty in the sky.
Are also on the faces, of people going by."

"I see friends shaking hands, saying, 'How do you do?'
They're really saying, 'I love you'."

"I hear babies cry, I watch them grow.
They'll learn much more, than I'll ever know.
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

"Yes, I think to myself,
What a wonderful world."

What beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful photos, Susan! Every June, our town hosts the Great American Brass Band Festival. It's a big deal. For many of the early years, the Olympia Brass Band from New Orleans was a regular attraction and their leader, Papa Dejan would sing this in his inimitable way. He passed away several years ago and the band has gone through rocky times but your post brought back memories of summer nights spent with thousands of others listening to the great Papa Dejan singing this as his band played behind him. Sweet memories, indeed.
