No, I'm not trying to channel Joan Rivers. I couldn't do that if I tried for the next million years. But I do want to have a virtual conversation.
conversation
[kon-ver-sey-shuh n]
informal interchange of thoughts, information, etc., by spoken words; oral communication between persons; talk; colloquy.
[Thank you, dictionary.com.]
In other words, the eleven lovely ladies you see pictured above would like to have a conversation with all of you unseen readers out there on the World Wide Web. Yes, you! Each and every one of you.
You see, next week is the 2nd Annual FOL Gathering. Some of you may remember that six of us met for the very first time at Shutter Sisters Oasis in Palm Springs in 2012. Then last year, six of us {a different six} got together in Chicago where the lovely Deanna was our hostess. This year, we're going to Galveston and the effervescent Kim is going to be our hostess. This year there will be ten of us together. Cathy is unable to join us because her new hip is too young to travel from Seattle to Galveston. We're going to Skype with her, though so you might say we'll be virtually all together.
So, what do we do when we're together, you ask? Well, after all the hugs are out of the way and the tears of joy are dry, we shoot photos. Lots of photos. We talk about photography. A lot. We talk about life and stuff. A lot. We laugh. Even more than we talk. We hang out together. And when we're hanging out, we tend to talk about ... you. Well, not you individually, as in gossip. None of us is that kind of girl, you know? But we talk about our readers and our blog and how we can bring you, our unseen readers, a better product.
Okay. Are you still with me? I hope so because this is where you come in. Listen very carefully and read my lips:
We want you to talk to us.
To tell us what you like or don't like about FOL. What you would like to see more of, what you would like to see less of. Would you like more tutorials? More tips and techiques? Do you want more photos? Fewer photos? More stories? Fewer stories? Is there any particular subject you'd like us to address? {Other than sex. After all, this is a G-rated blog.} If you have an idea or suggestion for us, please, please share it.
How? There are three easy ways to do this.
1. In the comments at the end of this post.
2. On our Facebook page which you can find right here.
3. If you're shy and don't want the whole World Wide Web to read your comment send us an email at focusingonlifegrp@gmail.com
That's it. It's that easy. And we really do want to hear from you! You are the reason we're here. We love you and we want to do our best to bring you what you're looking for from our little space called
Focusing on Life.

Lovely! I hope you all have a great time together- sounds like it will be great. I think sharing what you're loving or learning is always interesting to look at or read. I haven't been following for that long so I would say just keep doing what you do :)
What you gals have created here is such a lovely blog. I visit it daily for my dose of photography and inspiration. Your posts are great and informative. I personally would like more tutorials to improve my photos. Just once in a while because the individual posts are already so good.
Have a great time together. I think it is marvelous that you all have found each other.
I want to echo what Dotti is saying. Approaching our third anniversary, we know that we love this place but we want to be sure you love it to, that we are bringing you stories you enjoy reading and can identify with, inspirational photos, and how tos. But the only way we will know is through your comments and suggestions. As Dotti said, let us know what you love and what you would like to see more or less of. We are sharing our lives with you and hoping you share yours with us. When we are together next week, we would like to be able to talk about your suggestions and come up with ideas to implement them. So don't be shy, let's talk!
I really love how you continue to give a nice mix of things from tips to interviews and a vast store of inspiration. I think you should keep on keeping on. My two cents. You've created a wonderful space here.
