On this day before Thanksgiving I want to express my gratitude to you, our readers. Without you there would be no Focusing on Life and I know I speak for all of us when I say thank you for your support, your contributions, your comments and of course your beautiful photos. You inspire us to focus on the simple joys of everyday life and I hope that in return we do the same for you. As we near the end of November I hope that we can set an intention to keep an attitude of gratitude throughout the year.
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

Thank you for this beautiful post!
This is just beautiful and I am thankful that I started my day with you!
A perfect Thanksgiving post, Leigh! I'm so thankful for you and everyone here at FOL as well as all of our readers who make it possible. I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving Day and keeps this post in mind as they go about their day. I know I will. And I'm thinking your photo was one taken during our time in Galveston, which reminds me how thankful I am for that time together.
Count me among those who are ever so thankful for everybody in the FOL family, contributors and readers alike. FOL is about bringing all of us together and I'm so grateful for the place we have here, where we can share our photos, our lives, ourselves, the joys, the sorrows. Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you, whether you officially celebrate tomorrow or not! Everyday is a good day for thanksgiving wherever you are.
{And, yes, Leigh, your beautiful photo immediately transported me back to those halcyon days we shared together. #gratitude}
